About National Home Building Consultants
The parent company was first established in 1992 as a partnership.
In 1995, Ron Shalvis started out building additions and remodels, and quickly started building steel houses.
His company built many steel houses but the steel supply company went out of business for management reasons,
leaving Ron's company struggling to overcome problems incurred by the steel company.
After only being in business for one year Ron Shalvis (president) realized that building a house is not
complicated at all, but is a series of simple steps. Over the course of the next two years, a system was designed
to assist owner builders in building their own home with the supervision of contractor consultants.
Over the last four years of helping many people build their own home, Ron was able to improve and refine the
owner builder construction process.
At the beginning of 1999 Ron began expanding into other areas and bringing on experienced contractors
to assist owner builders in many areas of Utah. The current name "National Home Building
Consultants" reflects the national consulting focus, with three offices
spanning the Wasatch Front serving and assisting many people, with plans to open four additional offices
throughout the state of Utah.
